How Your Donations Make a Difference
Your contributions hold the power to make a meaningful impact on the lives of foster, adoptive, and kinship families and the children in their care. Your support helps us cover general and administrative expenses necessary to keep our doors open, but it goes so much further than that.
Through your generous donations, we create unforgettable moments of joy and connection by organizing fun-filled events and experiences that bring families together. These events offer a sense of belonging, support, and normalcy in the lives of children facing challenging circumstances.

Furthermore, your support enables us to fulfill the essential material childcare needs for these families. Your donations provide crucial supplies, from diapers and clothing to feeding supplies and hygiene products to sensory-friendly items to school essentials.
Families often are given only hours-notice that they will be receiving a child. Our ability to purchase any essentials they need that we don’t immediately have in stock allows them to focus on welcoming that child and meeting his/her emotional needs rather than worrying about how to meet their physical needs. We even support families with larger needs such as beds, strollers, and car seats. With your help, we are fostering a sense of belonging, value, and significance in these children, while alleviating the burden on foster, adoptive, and kinship parents who open their hearts and homes to provide stability and love.
No matter the size, your donations do more than just fund our initiatives; they create smiles, alleviate stress, and foster a sense of community among foster, adoptive, and kinship families. Together, we are building brighter futures and offering hope to those who need it most. Thank you for being a vital part of our mission to support and empower these families. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

Interested in Volunteering?
We would not exist without our team of volunteers. We are always looking for people who want to work with us in changing the foster and kinship care experience for kids and their caregivers. We welcome individuals, church groups, civic groups, or anyone who would like to lend a helping hand.
2 Primary Ways People Volunteer
Volunteer at the North Alabama Foster Closet during open hours
We are currently open 3 times a week for 3 hours each time. Volunteers primarily sort donations, transport items, clean, and assist families.
Volunteer for special projects
This can be holding a donation drive, helping at a Fostering Connections event, making freezer meals or treats like cookies or brownies, picking up donations, or doing a special delivery.
